132 victims of MU5735 air crash confirmed

At 5:00 p.m. on March 28, the China Emergency Response Headquarters held the ninth press conference on the flight accident of "3.21" China Eastern Airlines MU5735 aircraft to release the latest situation of the search.

Liu Kaihui, director of the Forensic Material Evidence Technology Division of the Material Evidence Identification Center of the Ministry of Public Security, introduced that after the accident, the Ministry of Public Security immediately formulated a work plan for the identification of victims, built a special platform for comparison of DNA for identification of victims, and organized 20 provinces and regions across the country. The municipal public security organ collected DNA samples from 132 people on board before they died and DNA samples from relatives.

The Physical Evidence Appraisal Center of the Ministry of Public Security sent a team of 30 experts to the scene to carry out on-site investigations together with more than 200 police criminal technicians from Guangxi.

At 9 am this morning, the identity of the last passenger was determined.

All 132 victims on MU5735 have been identified.
