Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett began mediating the conflict between Russia and Ukraine on the 5th local time. He visited Moscow and Berlin successively and had a telephone conversation with the Ukrainian president, according to the AFP news agency in Jerusalem.

So far, Bennett has not joined the international community's condemnation of Russia, instead emphasizing Israel's strong ties with Moscow and Kyiv.

According to reports, because of its close relationship with Russia and Ukraine, Israel offered to act as a mediator, and Ukraine expressed its support. But analysts pointed out that Bennett has little chance of influencing Russia's position.
