According to Reuters, CNN and other media sources, European Commission President von der Leyen supported Ukraine's entry into the European Union in an interview on Sunday (27th), saying that Ukraine is "one of us (the European Union)."
"In fact, over time, they belong to us. They are part of us (the EU) and we want them to join." Von der Leyen told Euronews on the 27th.
Reuters reported that Von der Leyen's remarks came just hours after the 27-member European Union decided for the first time in its history to supply arms to a country at war.
According to reports, in the early morning of the 28th local time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he had spoken to European Commission President von der Leyen about Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
