According to Agence France-Presse, Ukraine's state energy company Ukrenergo said on the 9th that the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and its safety systems have been completely powered off.
In a statement posted on social media Facebook, the Ukrainian state energy company said that the nuclear power plant was "completely disconnected from the grid" and that Russia's military action against Ukraine meant that "there is currently no possibility of restoring power lines."
